In a bid to extend development to every corner of Osun State, Nigeria, the current administration has successfully procured two 500kva transformers for two communities. The transformers were obtained for the Peace Community along Ede road in Ede North local government and the Oke Eran community, which stretches to Olorunsogo in Ilobu.
During a personal inspection of the transformer installations, Mr. Richard Oyegbami, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs, emphasized the determination of Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke's administration to illuminate every part of the state. Recognizing the significance of consistent power supply for the growth of small businesses, which serves as the foundation for economic development, Mr. Oyegbami stressed the governor's commitment to ensuring regular electricity for all.
The Permanent Secretary assured the communities that the installations would be completed before the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, as Governor Adeleke had mandated that the two communities should celebrate with electricity after enduring years in darkness. Mr. Oyegbami urged the residents to take responsibility for the transformers, treating them as their own property. He also promised other communities in need of transformers that their requests would be fulfilled in due course.
Expressing his gratitude on behalf of the Oke Eran community in Ilobu, Mr. Olasupo Abd. Asisi, the community leader, lamented that they had endured total darkness for over eight years. He extended his heartfelt appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke for coming to their aid. Asisi assured the governor and the state government that the residents would forever remain grateful, reaffirming their commitment to fulfilling their tax and levy obligations.
The community leader seized the opportunity to call upon the people of Osun State to continue their unwavering support for the present administration. With the recent efforts to bring light to previously neglected areas, it is evident that the government is committed to fostering development and improving the lives of its citizens.
