The PFIFFNER Group is embarking on a leadership transformation as Dr. Jürgen Bernauer, the company’s first CEO, steps down on January 1, 2025. After six years of guiding the company to remarkable growth and achieving the financial goals outlined in its Strategy 2025, Bernauer will hand over leadership to Marcel Rüfenacht, a seasoned leader with a global perspective.
Reflecting on his tenure, Bernauer shared, “We have built a rock-solid group in a growing market, achieving financial success and driving innovation across our subsidiaries.” While stepping back for personal reasons, he will remain with the company in a reduced capacity to share his expertise.
Incoming CEO Marcel Rüfenacht brings a wealth of experience from his time at ABB and Avesco AG, along with a multicultural upbringing spanning several countries. Fluent in German, English, French, and Spanish, Rüfenacht offers a global outlook that aligns with the PFIFFNER Group’s ambitions. A strong proponent of innovation, he sees the company as a leader in SF6-free technologies, key to the energy market’s ongoing transformation.
“The PFIFFNER Group has achieved extraordinary growth over the last two decades,” Rüfenacht stated. “I am eager to lead this next chapter alongside the Hunziker family and the management team, embracing the opportunities presented by the energy market’s transition.”
As he assumes his role, Bernauer expressed confidence in Rüfenacht’s vision and capabilities, urging employees, customers, and partners to support the new leader. “Marcel embodies a new generation of leadership and will bring fresh energy and innovation to the company,” he noted.
This transition marks the beginning of an exciting era for the PFIFFNER Group, as it navigates new opportunities in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.
