The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is making significant progress on its ongoing efforts to upgrade the power infrastructure in the Al Qutainah 1 area. This project forms part of SEWA’s broader strategic plan to enhance energy stability across Sharjah.
According to Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, SEWA has completed the installation and connection of six new substations and 14 electricity distribution panels. The works aim to improve the reliability and capacity of the power grid in this expanding residential zone.
Additionally, over 29 kilometers of electrical cabling has been laid. This includes 22.17 kilometers of medium-voltage cables to connect substations and 7.6 kilometers of low-voltage cables to supply residential units.
These upgrades mark a key milestone in SEWA’s first-phase rollout to modernize Sharjah’s electrical grid, ensuring efficient and stable energy delivery in targeted areas.
