CHINA – Siemens Energy supplied two power transformers in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province to provide green power for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The Siemens Energy Jinan plant commissioned two 220 kV / 180 MVA power transformers for the Guyangshu substation in Zhangjiakou, in the Hebei province of China.
The substation connects a large mountaintop wind farm to the transmission grid, which provided green power for the 2022 Winter Olympics venues and the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed rail line.
The transformers are equipped with the imported low-temperature MR tap changer, imported instruments, maintenance-free resin-impregnated paper dry bushings and bellows conservator, the manufacturer said in a media release.
“With 220 kV, the transformers are the best configured in Zhangjiakou region,” said Stefan Klaasen, General Manager of Power Transformers at Siemens Energy Together. “With our Jinan and Wuhan factories, we are proud to have done our part for the Olympic Winter Games 2022,” added Klaasen.
