AUSTRIA – Siemens Energy Austria GmbH - Transformers Linz (STL) has launched the #PurpleTree campaign to help alleviate the effects on climate change on the Kürnberg forest near Linz.
The employees of Siemens Energy Austria GmbH - Transformers Linz (STL) are taking part in the #PurpleTree campaign to protect the local forest from the effects of climate change and deforestation.
The STL campaign was launched to mark the International Arbor Day, celebrated worldwide on 25 April, that aims to raise awareness of the importance of forests for people and the economy. The initiator Natascha Ladstaetter, Strategic Communication and Marketing at STL, described the motivation behind the campaign:
“For every photo taken by our STL employees between 1 and 25 April together with the purple tree and posted on LinkedIn using the hashtag #PurpleTree, #TransformersLinz sponsors 5 tree seedlings for the Kürnberg forest, a recreational area near Linz, that is severely affected by climate change.”
“We want to sensitise our employees to the topic of sustainability and that climate protection begins on our own doorstep,” said Ladstaetter in a social media post. “We hope that the campaign will be well received and helps to preserve our nature!”
The initiative was greeted by STL General Manager Ronald Schmid and has met a very favorable response from the STL team members.
