MISSISSAUGA, ON – Many utilities have sites in remote locations where there is poor cellular coverage, which can cause considerable problems for crews.
Systems With Intelligence has recently announced the launch of its new remote monitoring technology. Through their many years of collaboration with client companies, SWI built on their feedback and created technology that would give users the ability to connect with the SWI Cloud using Wi-Fi instead of cellular service as has been conventional until now.
According to SWI, many utilities have sites in remote locations where there is poor cellular coverage, or maintenance teams need a wireless connection inside buildings where the cellular signal is sometimes blocked. The Wi-Fi option provides a constant connection to the sensor in these challenging locations.
“Not all of our customers’ remote sites have adequate cellular coverage,” said Angelo Rizzo, president and CEO of Systems With Intelligence. “And some would just prefer to use Wi-Fi on their own network instead of a cellular carrier. Now our customers have that option.”
