Budapest, Hungary - replacing old transformer units that are at the end of their service life
Ganz as the only Hungarian transformer manufacturer, and one of the permanent suppliers of MAVIR Hungarian Transmission Operator Co. has announced that it is replacing old transformer units that are at the end of their service life. In this way Ganz is contributing to the security of energy supply as well as to the development and stabilization of the transmission network infrastructure in Hungary.
According to the company, they recently replaced a power transformer that was in operation for over half a century at the substation in Oroszlány. As MAVIR stated below, this new unit is designed with modern solutions, and therefore should operate more energy efficiently and sustainably as well.
Additionally, as an adaption to the changing consumer needs in the country together with MAVIR Ganz installed a power transformer unit to the South-Bicske substation. This unit should play a key role in the security of supply of the northern Budapest region.
A new transformer unit of Ganz has also been installed at the 400/132 kV substation in Sándorfalva due to the current overload of the old transformers and the need to balance out the ever-growing energy requirements as soon as possible.
Following the trial periods and energization, all three units are expected to be under operation in Q1 of 2023!
