Transgrid has announced that they are building one of the biggest and most complex substations in the Southern Hemisphere as part of their $1.8 billion EnergyConnect project.
According to Transgrid, the Buronga substation will be the main hub to connect NSW, South Australia and Victoria as part of our efforts to bring more affordable, reliable and secure energy to consumers.
According to the company, the substation’s complex equipment will include two 120 MVA capacity synchronous condensers, five phase-shifting transformers, three power transformers and four shunt reactors.
