Buronga, AUSTRALIA - The camp at Buronga should house up to 400 staff working on Australia’s largest electricity project.
Transgrid has announced that work is well underway on the construction of a 30-hectare workers camp near the Buronga substation as part of project EnergyConnect,.
According to Transgrid, EnergyConnect is a $1.8 billion investment by Transgrid and is a transmission project that will help to revolutionize the National Electricity Market. It includes a new 900 km (559.23 mi) interconnector between Wagga Wagga in New South Wales and Robertstown in South Australia, with a connection to Red Cliffs in Victoria. Transgrid and their construction partners are building the 700 km (434.96 mi) section from the South Australian border to Wagga Wagga.
