AUSTRALIA – The South West REZ includes large areas of land around Hay and Balranald and Transgrid’s proposed substation at Dinawan, near Wagga Wagga.
Transgrid has welcomed the NSW Government’s announcement of a third Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), which will enable the connection of new and existing renewable generation to the grid in the state’s south-west, via the critical transmission project EnergyConnect.
“The NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap innovatively sets up dedicated Renewable Energy Zones to give much-needed certainty to private sector investors and market participants to unlock some of Australia’s best renewable resources,” said Brett Redman, CEO. “Transgrid is fully committed to working with the NSW Government to ensure a more reliable, affordable and sustainable network and accelerate our transition to a clean energy future,” he said.
