LYNCHBURG, VIRGINIA – Lynchburg-based transformer manufacturer Delta Star has honored its employee George Hudson as he became the first employee at the Lynchburg manufacturing facility to celebrate 50 years of service.
Hudson, aged 70, started at the company back in 1969 when it was called H.K. Porter. He was 20 years old and it was only his third job.
Fifty years later he continues to work at the company, now called Delta Star, as a transformer assembler level 5, the highest rank an assembler can have before becoming a supervisor, The News & Advance reveals in their cover of the story.
With this honor, the company recognizes the importance of pivotal employees who have made significant contributions to the company throughout the years with noteworthy years of service.
