DTEK Grids, a prominent energy holding company, has unveiled plans to invest approximately 103,7 million US$ (UAH 4 billion) in enhancing the stability and reliability of power grids across key regions in Ukraine in 2024. The investment aims to bolster infrastructure and minimize the occurrence of emergency situations, ensuring a steady power supply for residents and businesses.
According to the CEO of DTEK Grids, Oleksandr Fomenko, the investment will encompass various initiatives, including the construction of new lines, substations, and the modernization of existing infrastructure. These efforts are poised to significantly reduce the frequency of outages and enhance the overall resilience of the power grids.
In specific regions such as Kyiv, DTEK Kyiv Grids is set to undertake the reconstruction of four large high-voltage substations, involving the replacement of power transformers and the modernization of switchgear. This endeavor will directly benefit over 73,000 families in several districts, ensuring a more reliable power supply.
Similarly, DTEK Odesa Grids is continuing its investment program by reconstructing three 110 kV high-voltage substations. This initiative is expected to lower the risk of accidents for approximately 110,000 customers and safeguard 20 critical facilities, including hospitals, boiler houses, and water supply facilities.
Meanwhile, in Dnipro, DTEK Dnipro Grids will focus on the reconstruction of hub substations to enhance the effective utilization of existing transformers and provide reliable power to over 15,000 families and industrial enterprises. These efforts align with DTEK Grids' mission to develop and maintain a robust electricity distribution network, serving millions of households and businesses across multiple regions.
