China's Eaglerise Net Electric has revealed plans for a US$190 million investment for the establishment of a plant in Ramos Arizpe, focused on producing solar electric transformers, essential components for solar farms. These transformers, each weighing approximately 10 tons, will play a crucial role in the expansion of solar energy capacity.
Gilberto Rivera Mireles, the company's assistant director, outlined the project's timeline, with the first phase already underway, aiming to commence operations by year-end. Subsequent phases, scheduled for 2025, will see further expansion with the addition of two more production lines. Rivera Mireles emphasized the plant's technological sophistication, highlighting the need for real-time connectivity, including 5G capabilities, to operate the automated machinery and robots efficiently.
The decision to establish the plant in Davisa's Santa Maria Industrial Park in Coahuila was influenced by the region's proactive approach to investment facilitation and collaborative partnership. Claudio Bres Garza, Secretary of Economy, highlighted the project's significance, consisting of four stages, with the potential for future growth. Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the substantial economic benefits, including job creation and bolstering Coahuila's reputation as a thriving industrial hub.
With this investment representing the first of its kind in Mexico, the announcement underscores the country's commitment to renewable energy initiatives and signals a significant milestone in its industrial landscape. As Coahuila continues to attract sizable investments and foster economic growth, the establishment of Eaglerise's Net Electric's solar electric transformer plant marks a pivotal moment in Mexico's renewable energy journey.
