EGYPT – The Benban solar development complex, one of the world’s largest solar generation facilities, will have its four main transmission substations completed by the end of August this year.
The Benban project consists of 41 solar power plants with a total capacity of 1.8 GW. It includes four major transmission substations, in addition to 40 solar substations, with a voltage of 500 kV and 220 kV, reports MENAFN.
The complex that is built on an area of 14.4 square miles is a $2.3 billion investment expected to make a dramatic turnaround in the field of renewable energy in Egypt.
