In response to the surging global demand for transformers and energy technology, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) is embarking on an unprecedented expansion of its production capacities. Managing Director Wilfried Breuer underscores the proactive approach, stating, "We are investing massively to ensure we meet our customers' needs effectively." The investment entails bolstering the workforce, upgrading tools and production areas, and optimizing infrastructure to enhance efficiency.
Managing Director Holger Michalka highlights the investment priorities, focusing on key locations such as the Regensburg site in Germany, the USA, China, and Italy. At the lead factory in Regensburg, production lines, test benches, and infrastructure are being expanded to increase capacity by 25% by 2025, particularly for high-demand products. The Suzhou site in China will see an expansion to accommodate additional capacities for VACUTAP® tap-changer variants, aimed at shortening delivery times for Chinese customers and transformer manufacturers.
Furthermore, MR is set to inaugurate a new production building in Humboldt, Tennessee, USA, to cater to bolt-on tap-changers, with plans to increase capacity by 25% by 2025. Similar expansions are planned at production sites in Oberursel, Germany, and Milan, Italy, to meet the escalating demand for transformer accessories and instrumentation. These strategic investments underscore MR's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the global market and strengthening its position as a leader in transformer and energy technology.
