In a significant move to support Ukraine's energy resilience, the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, announced the delivery of two autotransformers to the country on December 1. The collaborative effort involved the Ukrainian state-owned energy company NPC Ukrenergo, reinforcing Ukraine's power infrastructure amid escalating threats.

Ambassador Brink emphasized the contrast between Russia's destructive actions and the U.S.'s commitment to keeping the lights on for Ukraine. These autotransformers, designed with a single electrically conductive path for regulating transmission line voltage, offer a cost-effective and efficient solution compared to traditional transformers.

As Ukraine anticipates increased energy strikes from Russia during the approaching winter, the autotransformers play a crucial role in stabilizing the country's energy sector. President Volodymyr Zelensky's approval of a strategic plan on November 7 underscores the nation's proactive measures to counter potential disruptions.

The delivery marks the beginning, with more autotransformers expected to arrive, providing Ukraine with a resilient defense against threats to its power infrastructure.
