BRAZIL — Furnas Centrais Elétricas has commissioned WEG to provide a three-phase transformer for the Ibiúna Substation located in the state of São Paulo.
Furnas Centrais Elétricas is a power utility company with a long-lasting partnership with WEG.
The São Paulo project includes a large three-phase 350 MVA, 345 kV / 20k V power transformer, scheduled for delivery in June 2021 to Ibiúna Substation located in the state of São Paulo.
The equipment will serve as stand-by for the 4 transformers in the synchronous compensator system, which has been in operation for over 30 years.
The new unit should reduce the timeframe for an eventual replacement or maintenance, as well as offer higher reliability to the energy transmission system in the area.
