The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is commited to restoring Ukraine's power grid as the country continues to face severe energy disruptions due to ongoing conflicts.
US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink stated that despite Russia's attempts to dismantle the infrastructure, they have procured 18 autotransformers, with more to follow. This support is aimed at maintaining the stability of Ukraine's power grid and ensuring electricity access for 38 million Ukrainians.
This move is part of a broader international effort to ensure the resilience of Ukraine's energy infrastructure in the face of persistent attacks. In addition to USAID's support, Ukrainian food producers have received generators provided by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and Germany. Furthermore, the European Union is stepping in with 68 large generators to bolster critical infrastructure across the country.
