Virginia Transformer has successfully delivered and installed two E2X pad-mounted transformers at Bailey Mine, part of Consol Energy’s Pennsylvania Mining Complex, the largest underground coal mining operation in North America.
The new transformers—rated at 1 MVA and 1.25 MVA, with a 41.6/0.48 kV configuration—will help enhance power distribution reliability at the southwestern Pennsylvania site. The Bailey Mine, established in 1984, produces an average of 11.5 million tons of thermal and crossover coal annually.
The installation of these transformers underscores Virginia Transformer’s commitment to providing high-quality power solutions with industry-leading lead times. The units were successfully engineered, shipped, and installed to support critical operations at the Aleppo Township site.
