A new 10/14 MVA, 34.5-13.09 kV transformer was recently delivered, installed, and energized by Virginia Transformer for the city of Newark’s power substation. This upgraded transformer replaces an older unit and aims to enhance local energy distribution for the Newark community, supporting both resilience and reliability in the city’s electrical grid.
The newly-installed transformer will bolster the power infrastructure, supplying Newark’s residents and businesses with improved stability in energy service. The transformer unit, a key part of Newark's utility modernization initiative, reflects ongoing efforts across the U.S. to strengthen grid performance in urban areas.
Virginia Transformer expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its commitment to supporting essential infrastructure across the country. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact on Newark’s energy reliability and community resilience,” a spokesperson for Virginia Transformer stated.
