
Virginia Transformer Corporation recently delivered and installed a new power distribution unit at Jo-Carroll Energy’s Metform Substation in Illinois, boosting electrical reliability for the surrounding community.
The newly deployed transformer is rated at 15/28 MVA, with a voltage rating of 69/13.8 kV, designed to ensure uninterrupted power supply for both residents and businesses in the area.
Jo-Carroll Energy, headquartered in Elizabeth, Illinois, is a not-for-profit cooperative serving over 26,500 customers across Jo Daviess, Carroll, Whiteside, and Henry counties. The utility manages a broad infrastructure network including more than 2,400 miles of electric line, over 1,000 miles of fiber optic cable, and hundreds of miles of natural gas pipeline.
According to Virginia Transformer, the unit was delivered on schedule, emphasizing the company’s focus on short lead times and high reliability for critical infrastructure components.
The installation supports the cooperative's goal of providing consistent and resilient service in a region where energy demands continue to evolve.
