Voltamp Transformers Limited, a manufacturer of oil-filled, power, distribution, and dry-type transformers based in Vadodara, India, has unveiled plans for a new manufacturing facility. The company, also known for its comprehensive repair and maintenance services for transformers, will commence construction of the new plant upon receiving government approvals, expected by October 2024. The facility, which will be situated near Vadodara, is slated for completion by July 2026. This new unit will initially have a production capacity of 6,000 MVA and is designed to meet the increasing demand for transformers in the coming years.
The new unit, which will produce transformers up to 250 MVA in the 220kV class, is a response to rising electricity and transformer demand over the next 5 to 6 years. Voltamp Transformers Ltd cited limited expansion space at its existing Makarpura and Vadadla sites as a key factor driving the investment.
The necessary approvals from government authorities are expected by October 2024. On getting requisite approvals, land purchase agreement will be executed and factory construction work will commence.
