In the first half of 2024, a leading U.S. electricity, natural gas, and clean energy distributor received a 49.61/66.15/82.69 MVA transformer from WEG. Serving approximately 20 million people in New York and Massachusetts, this new transformer is designed to enhance the region's electrical infrastructure and meet the growing energy demands.
Manufactured in Brazil, the transformer was transported by sea from the Port of Santa Catarina to the Port of New York, before being delivered to the Lake Colby Substation in Saranac Lake, NY. This new installation will provide advanced technological solutions to improve energy distribution efficiency and stability in the region.
The goal of the project is to provide a more robust infrastructure to support the increasing demand for energy in the area. The delivery of this transformer underlines WEG's commitment to contributing to clean, safe energy generation through its global operations, ensuring reliable power for its thousands of customers.
