Nordex to Supply Turbines for Major Wind Project in Brazil

4 Mar 2025
Nordex Group has secured a contract from Brazil-based energy company Auren Energia to supply and install 19 N163/5.X wind turbines for the Cajuína 3 Wind Farm in Rio Grande do Norte. The order, totaling 112 MW, includes an initial 15-year service agreement, with options to extend up to 30 years.

The turbines, each operating at 5.9 MW, will be installed on 120-meter concrete towers. Installation is set to begin in early 2026, with commissioning scheduled for autumn 2026.

The Cajuína Wind Complex has already received 120 Nordex turbines for the Cajuína 1 and 2 wind farms, adding up to 684 MW.

Auren Energia is one of Brazil's largest renewable energy producers, operating 8.8 GW of wind, solar, and hydroelectric capacity across nine states. The company is listed on the B3 Novo Mercado and is a component of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) and Ibovespa Index.

With a global presence in over 40 markets, Nordex Group has installed approximately 57 GW of wind power and generated EUR 7.3 billion in sales in 2024.
