Nova Clean Energy Secures Contracts for 1 GW Texas Wind Project

30 Oct 2024
Nova Clean Energy has announced the execution of key interconnection and high-voltage equipment supply contracts for a 1-gigawatt (GW) portfolio of wind power projects in Texas. These projects, spread across the Delaware Basin and the central Gulf Coast, are set to meet Texas's surging demand for clean energy, especially within the oil and gas, petrochemical, green fuels, and data center industries.

The construction of these wind power facilities is slated to begin in late 2025, with power delivery expected by winter 2026. This development marks an important milestone for Texas as it navigates increasing energy demands. Ben Pratt, President of Nova, emphasized the urgency of delivering clean, native power to meet the state's rapidly growing needs.

In addition to wind power, Nova is finalizing agreements for an additional 500 megawatts (MW) of solar and battery storage projects in Texas. This latest project is part of Nova's nationwide push to reach 10 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. The company, formed in 2022 and backed by Bluestar Energy Capital and Great Bay Renewables, is developing over 7 GW of renewable projects across the United States.
