Osmose and Neara Partner to Strengthen Power Grids with AI

21 Mar 2025
Osmose and Neara have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the resilience of transmission and distribution networks. The collaboration will help utilities like CenterPoint Energy improve asset risk assessment, data accuracy, and decision-making using AI-driven predictive modeling.

By integrating Osmose's expertise in field data collection and structural analysis with Neara's AI-powered modeling platform, utilities can better evaluate asset conditions, prioritize maintenance, and reduce unnecessary replacements. The partnership addresses challenges related to outdated or incomplete network data, improving grid reliability while optimizing costs.

"Our partnership with Neara enables utilities to make smarter, data-driven decisions," said Mike Adams, CEO of Osmose. "Accurate asset data is essential for grid resiliency and performance."

Key benefits of this collaboration include:

  • Enhanced data accuracy through on-site assessments and AI-driven corrections.
  • Improved risk-based decision-making using predictive analytics.
  • Cost-effective restoration strategies that minimize unnecessary replacements.

CenterPoint Energy is already leveraging these tools to enhance storm preparedness and network reliability. "CenterPoint Energy is committed to building a resilient grid, and collaborating with Neara and Osmose allows us to optimize system modeling and asset analysis," said Eric Easton, VP of Grid Transformation at CenterPoint Energy.

The initiative aims to drive up to 70% cost savings, 80% faster restoration times, and a 25% increase in asset prioritization accuracy. By combining field expertise with AI-driven modeling, utilities can proactively strengthen their infrastructure and improve service reliability.
