RWE to Supply Renewable Energy to Telehouse Under 10-Year Agreement

18 Mar 2025
RWE, the UK's largest power generator, has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Telehouse International Corporation of Europe, a global data centre service provider. Under the agreement, RWE will supply a portion of the renewable electricity used at Telehouse's London Docklands campus until 2035.

The electricity will come from the London Array offshore wind farm, located in the outer Thames Estuary. The wind farm has a total installed capacity of 630 megawatts and is operated by RWE in partnership with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Greencoat UK Wind PLC, and Masdar Energy UK Limited.

According to RWE Supply & Trading, the agreement ensures a reliable supply of renewable energy to the data centre. Telehouse Europe stated that the PPA aligns with its energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

The agreement contributes to long-term renewable energy procurement for data centre operations, a sector with increasing energy demands.
