Avangrid, a leading U.S. energy company and part of the Iberdrola Group, has announced the successful assembly of over 200,000 solar modules at SEG Solar's newly launched manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. The modules will supply Avangrid's 166 MWdc Tower Solar project, currently under construction in Morrow County, Oregon.

The announcement marks the first utility-scale delivery from SEG Solar's U.S. plant and reinforces Avangrid's commitment to expanding the domestic renewable energy supply chain. The modules are slated for installation in a project that will feed power into the Portland General Electric (PGE) grid and support Meta's data center operations in the region.

The Houston facility, a $60 million investment by SEG Solar, began producing in early 2025 and is designed to reach 2 GW of annual capacity. It currently employs more than 300 workers and is expected to create over 500 jobs at full capacity.

"Domestic partnerships are critical to meeting rising demand," said Jose Antonio Miranda, CEO of Avangrid. "Our work with SEG Solar demonstrates our commitment to strengthening American energy infrastructure."

Logan Fang, Vice President of Key Accounts at SEG Solar, added that the collaboration is their third with Avangrid, and the Yukon N Series 630 Wp high-efficiency modules are expected to perform strongly in the Pacific Northwest.

Tower Solar is set for completion in 2026.
