Shell Germany and the Volkswagen Group have formed a partnership to develop a robust charging ecosystem for electric vehicles (EVs) in Germany and across Europe. The collaboration aims to accelerate the transition to e-mobility by expanding the availability of charging infrastructure and enhancing the overall EV charging experience.

As part of the partnership, Shell will significantly increase the number of charging stations at its retail sites in Germany, offering convenient access to charging facilities for Volkswagen EV owners. Shell plans to install over 200 high-powered charging points across 80 locations by the end of 2021. The charging stations will feature advanced technology capable of delivering fast charging speeds, allowing EV drivers to recharge their vehicles quickly and efficiently.

By joining forces, Shell and Volkswagen aim to address the challenges associated with EV charging infrastructure, including the availability of charging points and the range anxiety among EV users.
