Siemens Energy Acquires Camlin Group to Enhance Grid Technology

2 Jun 2026
Siemens Energy has agreed to acquire Camlin Group, a Northern Ireland-based specialist in grid monitoring, analytics, and asset digitalization, in a move designed to strengthen its digital grid offerings. The deal, expected to close before the end of 2026 pending regulatory approval, aims to help utilities respond to growing demands on electricity networks worldwide. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2010, Camlin Group employs around 650 people and generates over $121 million (£90 million) in annual revenue. The company operates across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia, providing sensor-based monitoring and software-driven grid intelligence solutions.

The acquisition comes amid increasing pressure on power grids from aging infrastructure, rising electrification, and the integration of renewable energy sources. Tim Holt, Member of the Executive Board of Siemens Energy, emphasized the strategic importance: “Grid expansion and digitalization are becoming decisive factors for energy security, economic growth and the energy transition. Camlin Group is known for their high-quality products, skilled workforce and advanced software portfolio. Together, we can help customers move from reactive maintenance to data driven, condition based operation.”

For Camlin Group, the partnership promises broader global reach. CEO Peter Cunningham said, “Our partnership with Siemens Energy reflects a strong alignment in values, technology and long-term vision. Siemens Energy recognises the strength of our technology, our people and our customer relationships, and sees Camlin as a natural fit within their strategy for the future grid.”
