Siemens Gamesa installs 1.5 GW of wind energy capacity in Egypt

EGYPT - The Egyptian government has mapped out an ambitious plan for the country's energy future to meet the rapidly increasing energy demand.


Siemens Gamesa has announced that they have installed 1.5 GW of wind energy capacity in Egypt, helping Egypt in its quest to become a transcontinental hub for renewable energy exports.

According to Siemens Gamesa, the Egyptian government has also mapped out an ambitious plan for the country's energy future to meet the rapidly increasing energy demand. The Integrated Sustainable Energy Strategy aims to ensure the stability of the country's energy supply targeting 42% of electricity generation from renewables by 2035.

According to the company, Siemens Gamesa has been actively contributing from the early stages to the implementation of the Egyptian Government's strategy by providing the right onshore technology and resources required in the development of the country's wind power plan.
