Subsea7 Secures Two Major Offshore Contracts in Germany and US
Subsea7 has announced the award of two significant contracts, expanding its presence in both offshore wind and deepwater oil and gas projects. The contracts, valued between $50 million and $150 million each, cover a German offshore wind farm and a deepwater development in the US Gulf of Mexico.
For the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm in Germany, a project owned by OWP Gennaker (a subsidiary of Skyborn Renewables), Seaway7, part of Subsea7 Group, will manage the transportation and installation of 63 monopiles and their transition pieces. Stuart Fitzgerald, CEO of Seaway7, emphasized the company’s extensive experience in Germany, noting its involvement in over 20 projects generating nearly 3,500 MW of clean energy.
In the US, Subsea7 will deliver subsea installation services for Shell’s Kaikias Waterflood project in the Mars-Ursa Basin, approximately 210 km off the Louisiana coast. Scope includes the transport and installation of a subsea umbilical, riser, and rigid flowline in water depths up to 1,650 meters. Craig Broussard, Senior VP for Subsea7 Gulf of Mexico, highlighted the project as a continuation of the company’s long-term partnership with Shell.
Both projects are scheduled to commence in 2027.
