Taihan Cable & Solution Secures $75 Million U.S. Transmission Project
Taihan Cable & Solution announced on January 7 that its U.S. subsidiary, T.E.USA, has secured a 230kV extra-high voltage (EHV) transmission line project in Southern California, valued at approximately $75 million (100 billion won).
The project will construct a new transmission line in the Riverside area to meet rising electricity demand and ensure a stable power supply during emergencies, including natural disasters. The contract will be executed on a full turnkey basis, with Taihan Cable & Solution managing the entire process from design and manufacturing to installation, testing, and commissioning.
The company was selected over global competitors due to its technical expertise and experience in complex projects in the U.S. market. Taihan Cable & Solution has previously completed all 500kV HVAC power grid projects, participated in 320kV HVDC projects, and carried out major power grid replacement initiatives in metropolitan areas.
A company spokesperson highlighted that this project builds on last year’s $2.55 billion (3.4 trillion won) order backlog, positioning the company for further expansion amid the ongoing modernization of the U.S. power grid.
