TMEIC Relocates HQ to Houston, Launches New PV Inverter Plant in Texas

21 Aug 2024
TMEIC Corporation Americas, a subsidiary of TMEIC Corporation (Japan), has announced the relocation of its headquarters to Houston, Texas, set for March 2025. The move coincides with the establishment of a 144,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Brookshire, Texas, dedicated to producing utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) inverters. This expansion underscores TMEIC's commitment to U.S.-based PV manufacturing and its strategic growth in renewable energy technology.

As a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems, TMEIC has installed over 50 GW of renewable energy systems worldwide, with 28 GW of that in North America since entering the U.S. market in 2010. The decision to relocate from Roanoke, Virginia, to Houston's Energy Corridor aligns with the company's goals of fostering innovation, expanding its team, and enhancing its service capabilities.

The new Brookshire facility, scheduled to begin operations in October 2024, will be adjacent to TMEIC's existing manufacturing plant in Katy, Texas. Initially, the facility will have the capacity to produce 9 GW annually, with the potential for future expansion based on market demand.

Manmeet S. Bhatia, President and CEO of TMEIC Corporation Americas, stated, "We are excited to make these investments for an expanded presence in the Houston area with the relocation of our headquarters and the opening of our new manufacturing facility. These investments and expansions will potentially create up to 300 jobs in the local community." He emphasized that this strategic expansion underscores TMEIC's dedication to the renewable energy industry and its commitment to advancing clean energy technology while manufacturing in the United States.
