UK Chooses Prysmian for €2 Billion Eastern Green Link 4 Energy Project
Prysmian Group has been named the preferred bidder for the Eastern Green Link 4, a major high voltage direct current (HVDC) cable interconnector project connecting Scotland and England. The project is led by the UK transmission owners SP Transmission plc and National Grid Electricity Transmission plc.
The contract, valued at approximately €2 billion, is currently in negotiation stages, with further announcements expected in due course. The interconnector will run via a subsea route through the North Sea and is intended to enhance the energy security of the United Kingdom.
The Eastern Green Link 4 project will contribute to the modernization and future-proofing of the UK's energy grid, supporting the transition towards cleaner and more affordable energy sources.
Prysmian has an established track record in the UK, having delivered previous interconnector projects such as Eastern Green Link 1 & 2 and the Viking Link, which is the world's longest land and subsea high voltage cable interconnector.
