Crux Announces $215 Million Investment in Ohio Solar Project
Crux has closed a $215 million tax equity investment to support Invenergy’s 240 MW Pleasant Prairie Solar Energy Center in Franklin County, Ohio.
Currently under construction, the utility-scale solar project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027. It is projected to support approximately 300 construction jobs and generate more than $230 million in local economic investment over the project’s life.
The investment was structured and underwritten by Crux Capital Securities and will help monetize federal investment tax credits associated with the project.
“Crux’s tax equity investment marks an important milestone for Pleasant Prairie Solar and reflects continued confidence in projects that help meet growing energy demand, while delivering meaningful local benefits,” said Matthew Ransweiler, Senior Vice President and Head of North America Project Finance at Invenergy.
The project will deliver electricity to the local grid, while a third-party offtaker will receive the clean energy credits associated with its generation capacity.
