Siemens Energy Rebrands as Omterra
Siemens Energy has announced plans to transition to a new independent brand identity, Omterra, as the company moves forward following its 2020 spin-off from Siemens AG.
The rebranding process is scheduled to begin later this year and will gradually bring Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy together under the Omterra brand umbrella. The move follows the expiration timeline of the existing agreement allowing the company to use the Siemens Energy name.
Christian Bruch, CEO of Siemens Energy, described the transition as the next step in the company’s development, stating: "Since our spin-off, it has been clear that the licensed Siemens Energy brand would be available to us for a limited period. Today, our company is well positioned strategically, operationally and financially. We have earned the trust of our customers and the capital markets, improved our profitability, and have ambitious growth plans for the years ahead."
He added that the company’s heritage remains important as it develops its own identity: "We are proud of what our employees have built over the past few years. Our founder’s name opened doors and supported us on our path to independence. This legacy remains both an inspiration and a commitment for us as we actively help shape the energy world of tomorrow."
According to Siemens Energy, the new Omterra brand is intended to reflect the company’s global operations, technological expertise, and role in supporting future energy systems. The company said the transition will not change its strategy, customer relationships, or business operations.
Siemens Energy operates across the energy value chain, including power generation, transmission, storage, and renewable energy technologies through its Siemens Gamesa wind business.
