Triple Point Buys Hessay Solar Project From Recurrent Energy

Triple Point has acquired the 49.2MW Hessay Solar project in York from Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar. Construction is already underway, with grid connection targeted for the second half of 2027.

The project, which secured a 15-year Contract for Difference (CfD), is expected to generate enough electricity to supply around 14,100 homes annually. It is also forecast to deliver biodiversity improvements above the UK’s 10% minimum requirement.

Jonathan Hick, head of energy transition at Triple Point, said the acquisition reflects the company’s strategy of securing ready-to-build renewable energy projects with near-term grid connections.

“Construction has already commenced and we look forward to seeing the site become operational at the end of next year. We are particularly pleased that Hessay will deliver an overall Biodiversity Net Gain above the minimum requirement of 10%, a testament to the calibre of the Recurrent Energy development team.”
