Vestas has announced a significant new order from OX2 for a 99 megawatt (MW) wind energy project in Romania. The deal includes the delivery of 16 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines, alongside the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the equipment.

The turbines will be covered under a 35-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to optimize performance and ensure the reliability of the wind energy assets over their lifespan.

Taras Kachmarchuk, Sales Director for South-East Europe at Vestas, highlighted the significance of the partnership: "This project marks a milestone in our collaboration with OX2, reflecting nearly two decades of successful joint ventures in the Nordics and Europe. With this project, our installed or under-construction wind capacity in Romania will exceed 1.5 GW."

Turbine delivery is expected to start in the second half of 2025, with commissioning slated for the first half of 2026.
