Argentine Secretariat of Energy will announce a tender in the second quarter of 2019 for the construction of the Comodoro Oeste transformer station and two transmission lines in the Province of Chubut.
The works will include construction of a 500/132 kV, 300 MVA transformer station which will connect to the section of the 500 kV transmission line between the Puerto Madryn substation and the Santa Cruz Norte substation, reports BN Americas.
The new substation is expected to strengthen the reliability of the electricity supply and meet the growing energy demands in the cities of Comodoro Rivadavia, Colonia Sarmiento, Rada Tilly and Caleta Olivia.
The substation should also help integrate wind energy generated in the region in the country’s energy mix.
