BRAZIL – WEG has supplied substations with a capacity of more than 962.7 MW for five solar and wind plants.
The substations supplied by the manufacturer for these five projects include the preliminary project study, a customized solution design, project management, construction and assembly.
The substations interface with other products delivered by the manufacturer, including HV switches, HV transformers, dry and MV/LV acceptance transformers, panels - control and protection and auxiliary services, bay control and protection, monitoring system and generators.
According to Operador Nacional del Sistema Eléctrico (ONS), each transmission and power generation substation interconnected to the National Interconnected System (SIN) must include two power sources for essential loads. For this reason, in addition to substations and transformers, WEG has also supplied 69 kVA and 200 kVA synchronous alternators, IP44 Protection Grade for these projects, the manufacturer said in a press release.
These projects allow WEG to demonstrate its verticalized production process, combined with the customization of projects, equipment, a technical team and a product portfolio that ensure added value to each solution designed for the customer, the manufacturer said in a press release.
