VALOREM’s 148.5 MW Matkussaari Wind Farm Supplies Finnish Grid

Google and VALOREM Group have disclosed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for electricity from the 148.5 MW Matkussaari wind farm in Kurikka, Finland.

Signed in 2024, the pay-as-produced agreement covers generation from 27 Nordex N163 turbines, each rated at 5.5 MW. The wind farm entered commercial operation in May 2025 and supplies electricity to the Finnish grid.

Matkussaari is part of the 313.5 MW VIIATTI project, alongside the Kalistanneva wind farm. The combined project was inaugurated in August 2025 and is VALOREM’s largest wind development to date.

Google and VALOREM are also participating in Finland’s electricity reserve markets, enabling the wind farm to adjust output in response to power system needs and provide ancillary services supporting grid stability.

VALOREM currently has more than 2.3 GW of renewable energy projects under development in Finland.
