NEPI Rockcastle Commissions 56.2 MW Solar Park in Romania
ROMANIA – NEPI Rockcastle has commissioned its second solar photovoltaic park in Ariceștii Rahtivani (Nedelea), Prahova County, developed with Global Technical Systems (GTS).
The 56.2 MW facility covers 75.5 hectares and incorporates more than 90,000 bifacial solar panels. According to NEPI Rockcastle, annual generation is expected to reach approximately 73,000 MWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 40,000 Romanian households.
The facility includes a transformer station designed to accommodate future battery energy storage systems (BESS). Transformer and collector system reliability and renewable energy asset monitoring are important considerations for utility-scale solar installations.
Andrei Radu, NEPI Rockcastle’s Group Development Director, said: “The Ariceștii Rahtivani (Nedelea) photovoltaic park is a concrete example of how we turn sustainability into investments with long-term impact.”
The project supports the company’s target of meeting 31% of its electricity consumption through owned renewable sources by the end of 2026.
