Enviromena Acquires 26MWp Solar Farm in Surrey
UK renewable energy developer Enviromena has acquired the 26.37MWp Duxhurst Solar Farm in Surrey, near Reigate, from Luminous Energy, further expanding its construction-ready portfolio of Contract for Difference (CfD)-backed assets.
The project was awarded support under CfD Allocation Round 6, providing long-term revenue certainty once operational. It is forecast to generate more than 26,500MWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power over 9,800 UK homes, while avoiding approximately 4,600 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The solar farm is expected to be energised in summer 2027.
The acquisition strengthens Enviromena’s UK development pipeline, which already includes other CfD-secured projects such as Rock Farm, Steeraway, and Longpasture, all part of the company’s broader expansion strategy in utility-scale solar development.
Enviromena CEO Chris Marsh described the transaction as part of a disciplined growth approach across its renewable portfolio:
“This acquisition is another example of our disciplined approach to growing a high-quality renewable energy portfolio. The Duxhurst project complements our existing pipeline and provides an opportunity to efficiently deploy our development and delivery capabilities to bring additional clean power to market.”
He added that the company continues to focus on selectively pursuing projects that meet investment criteria and support long-term returns while strengthening its delivery platform.
From the sell-side perspective, Luminous Energy highlighted its ongoing strategy of developing and recycling capital from solar assets. Founder and CEO Jolyon Orchard said:
“This is another example of a solar farm developed in-house by Luminous Energy which is a testament to our ability to originate and develop world class solar farms which make a meaningful contribution towards decarbonising our electricity system and helping to fight against climate change.”
He also noted the company’s approach of selectively selling projects while reinvesting proceeds into international growth and new developments.
The transaction follows Enviromena’s broader financial expansion in 2026, including $1,3 billion (£1 billion) in funding facilities supporting its 1GW UK solar pipeline over the next five years.
