PPC Group to Acquire 2 GW-plus RES Portfolio
PPC Group has signed an agreement with German renewable energy company ABO Energy GmbH & Co. KGaA to acquire its subsidiaries in Poland and Hungary, alongside a renewable energy (RES) portfolio exceeding 2 GW.
The deal includes 29 special-purpose vehicles with 99 MW of solar projects operational or nearing completion, plus more than 2 GW of solar, wind and energy storage projects under development.
PPC will also acquire the two companies’ local development teams, covering activities from site selection and licensing to grid connections and project management.
The agreement follows PPC’s recent expansion in both markets, including deals for a 57.5 MW solar park in Hungary and a 277.3 MW RES portfolio in Poland.
The Polish transaction is expected to close in September 2026, with the Hungarian deal expected in Q4, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
Konstantinos Mavros, PPC Group’s Deputy CEO for RES, called the agreement “a decisive qualitative leap for PPC Group in Central Europe.”
PPC Group targets 24.3 GW of installed capacity by 2030, up from 12.4 GW in 2025.
