Türkiye Plans $200B Energy Investment by 2035
Türkiye plans to invest around $200 billion in its energy transition by 2035, covering renewables, nuclear power and grid modernisation, according to the Presidential Investment and Finance Office's Energy Sector Report 2026.
The country is targeting 120GW of combined wind and solar capacity by 2035, requiring 8–9GW of new capacity annually. Around $80 billion is expected to support grid modernisation, transmission, distribution and system flexibility.
Renewables already accounted for 62% of Türkiye's installed electricity capacity in 2025, while proposed battery storage projects are also expanding rapidly.
Ahmet Burak Dağlıoğlu, President of the Presidential Investment and Finance Office, said: "The rapid increase in renewable energy capacity, grid modernization, energy efficiency, storage, and the development of domestic production capacity offer significant opportunities for investors in Türkiye."
The investment programme highlights growing demand for grid infrastructure, transformers, energy storage and power-system technologies as Türkiye accelerates its energy transition.
