ENGIE, Oracle sign 568 MW Texas wind power agreement
ENGIE North America has signed renewable energy supply agreements with Oracle for up to 568 MW of wind power to support the technology company’s growing operations in Texas.
Announced September 17, the agreements are structured around a portfolio of wind resources supplying electricity through the ERCOT market rather than a single generation asset. The arrangement provides Oracle with large-scale renewable electricity without requiring the company to own or operate the generation assets.
The agreement comes as electricity demand increases across ERCOT, including from expanding data center and industrial loads. Texas has the largest installed wind generation capacity of any U.S. state, providing a significant source of renewable electricity for the market.
The 568 MW procurement adds to growing corporate demand for large-scale power supply agreements as technology companies expand energy-intensive computing and data center operations in Texas.
