Envision Energy and AMEA Power Sign Wind Deal in Egypt
Envision Energy has signed an agreement with AMEA Power for the 500MW Amunet II wind project in Egypt, further strengthening their cooperation in the country’s renewable energy sector.
The agreement was announced during the Africa Energy Forum 2026 in Cape Town and builds on the companies’ previous collaboration on the 500MW Ras Ghareb wind project, which was commissioned in 2025 and marked a major step in utility-scale wind deployment in Egypt.
With Amunet II, AMEA Power continues to expand its wind portfolio in Egypt, which is expected to reach 1GW once the project is completed. The development supports the country’s broader strategy to diversify its energy mix and accelerate renewable energy adoption.
Commenting on the partnership, Kane Xu, Senior Vice President at Envision Energy, said the collaboration has evolved significantly over time, describing it as one built on “trust, innovation and long-term value creation.” He added that the project “demonstrates the scalability of our partnership model and the value of global collaboration in advancing the energy transition.”
From AMEA Power’s perspective, Chairman Hussain Al Nowais pointed to the successful execution of the Ras Ghareb project as a foundation for continued cooperation, noting that it demonstrated “what can be achieved when strong partners share a common vision and commitment to execution.” He added that Amunet II reflects “continued confidence in Egypt’s renewable energy sector.”
The companies said the new agreement reinforces the growing role of large-scale wind power in Egypt’s energy transition and supports further expansion of renewable capacity in the region.
