Hitachi Energy Expands Celonis AI Collaboration
Hitachi Energy is expanding its collaboration with process intelligence company Celonis to apply AI across its operations, aiming to improve efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience and speed up delivery of electricity infrastructure.
The work is part of AI Nexus, its transformation programme. Hitachi Energy, Hitachi Digital and Celonis, plus Databricks and Microsoft, have built an architecture connecting digital systems, operational data and AI.
The Celonis Context Model lets AI agents anticipate disruptions, such as delays to critical materials, and recommend actions. In a 2024 case study, Celonis reported $1 million in annual Purchase-to-Pay savings at Hitachi Energy.
Wider deployment is expected to contribute to productivity and profitability and support a growing order backlog, as manufacturers face pressure to add capacity and manage complex supply chains.
Urs Dogwiler, Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Lumada Business Officer at Hitachi Energy, said: “Celonis helps our teams anticipate supply risks, act sooner and improve delivery performance, making AI a practical driver of operational excellence.”
