AMPIN Energy Expands Renewable Energy Projects in India
AMPIN Energy Transition is expanding its portfolio of utility-scale and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable energy projects in India, supported by plans to deploy more than $4 billion in new capital. The company is also expanding manufacturing capabilities linked to its energy transition business.
The expansion is supported by up to $100 million from Norfund under the Norwegian Climate Investment Fund. AMPIN said the capital will help scale its renewable energy portfolio and related manufacturing operations.
Pinaki Bhattacharyya, Founder, Managing Director and CEO of AMPIN Energy Transition, said the investment reinforces the company’s integrated model spanning C&I and utility customers, alongside manufacturing.
Bjørnar Baugerud, EVP, Renewable Energy at Norfund and Head of the Climate Investment Fund, said AMPIN combines large-scale renewable generation with manufacturing capabilities.
AMPIN’s total equity capital raised has reached nearly $1 billion. The company said its planned investment will support the expansion of renewable generation projects and strengthen its role in India’s energy transition.
